Product Assurance Engineer – Manufacturing In IR35, £35/Per Hour Inside IR35 Umbrella FT Hybrid 3 days min a week onsite.
Our esteemed client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking a skilled Product Assurance Engineer to join their Product Assurance Engineering team. In this role, you will provide independent oversight and assurance that manufacturing and related processes are consistently applied across all projects. You’ll also offer expert guidance on quality matters within UK Manufacturing.
The successful candidate will support the identification and implementation of sustainable process improvements, enhancing existing methods and practices. You will also play a key role in helping UK Manufacturing identify and mitigate risks or issues related to process application, effectiveness, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Provide quality assurance support and expert advice across Manufacturing UK, driving continuous improvement, manufacturing excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Support manufacturing programmes in achieving cost, schedule, and quality targets through effective application of quality processes and controls.
Develop, deliver, and promote quality awareness, process compliance, and quality-related training across the business.
Ensure the Business Management System is appropriately tailored and effectively implemented within Manufacturing UK production programmes.
Conduct independent assessments and audits to verify compliance, identify improvement opportunities, and report findings to management.
Monitor audit actions through to completion, ensuring timely resolution of issues and implementation of corrective actions.
Work closely with Product Assurance Managers and cross-functional teams to develop risk reduction strategies and quality improvement plans.
Support the development and implementation of Process Effectiveness Review programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Liaise with Quality Assurance teams across MBDA and Customer Representatives (DQAFF) to support quality objectives and issue resolution.
Facilitate Non-Conformance Review Panels, analyse defect and non-conformance data, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and support SAP quality and non-conformance management processes.
What do you need?:
HNC/HND or higher in a relevant engineering or technical discipline is preferred.
Proven experience in quality management within engineering or manufacturing, with strong knowledge of integrated management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficient in quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, PFMEA, and risk-based problem-solving techniques.
Skilled in conducting internal and external audits, with hands-on experience in quality assurance practices.
In-depth understanding of EN9100/AS9100 standards and their application in regulated environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement sustainable business and process improvements.
Customer-focused mindset with a clear understanding of internal and external stakeholder requirements.
Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection and working knowledge of SAP Quality Module is advantageous.
