Software Engineer

Join a leading partner of the UK Ministry of Defence at our Bristol site. This role is part of a team delivering a demonstration system for an advanced Command and Control capability, building on existing concepts and logic. If the demonstration proves successful, it could progress into a full development project for an operational capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and test complex business logic using C++.
  • Collaborate with internal algorithm teams to develop code that executes algorithms, implements advanced transformation logic, and verifies functionality. Work will involve multiple iterations following a CI/CD approach.
  • Develop interfaces for integration with both internal and external systems.
  • Enhance existing software by creating components for virtual environments and supporting software deployment.


What do you need?:

  • Extensive experience in developing C++ applications.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including implementation and system-wide impact.
  • Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab and Docker.
  • Experience in creating software for virtualised environments.
  • Familiarity with safety and security-focused development practices and relevant standards (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of Data Distribution Service (DDS) is desirable.
